Who can forget the many fascinating sessions spent recording Bach, Handel, and Purcell arias and choruses, straight and then Inegales; was it long - short or short - long, strict time or gently swung ... and so on!
Inegales aside, the highlight for me must be the Florentine Intermidi of 1589, I think it was in 2000, with Emma Kirkby and the Rose Consort. It was wonderful day, a complete masterclass in itself for we local mortals! John had such drive and determination that everything would be just so on the day and it all went incredibly well.
